Autobooks monitors payment transactions in order to protect our business owners, their customers, and Autobooks from becoming victims of fraud.
We monitor your credit card and ACH transactions to detect fraud, ensure compliance with industry regulations, prevent chargebacks/ACH returns, and protect both you and your customers from potential financial risk.
Payments being investigated by Autobooks
On occasion, we may flag and hold a transaction for further investigation. Our Merchant Services team will work quickly to resolve any questions we have regarding your transaction. While we work, the payment itself is held by Autobooks.
Autobooks may reach out to you via email to clarify details about a transaction or your customer. Once we receive your response, the transaction is either released (in the event everything looks good) or canceled (in the event our concerns remain).
Your customer’s payment could be held or canceled for several reasons including fraud detection, incorrect payment details, insufficient funds, a dispute or chargeback, or a technical error with the card issuer or payment processor.
Additional information requests for payment investigations
Autobooks may need additional information about a payment as part of our due diligence to comply with legal and security regulations, prevent fraud, and ensure smooth processing of payments.
It is an industry standard practice to request details for verification. We handle all information securely and confidentially. If certain details are sensitive (such as client information or client contract information), we can discuss alternatives with you to meet compliance requirements.
What to do if you don't have the additional information requested
We understand that businesses may not have all the requested information. Please let us know what specific documents or details you’re missing, and we’ll work with you to determine the best alternative.
