I just signed up for Autobooks, when can I start getting paid

Once you've accepted our terms of service you'll be able to interact with Autobooks tools, however you will not be able to start accepting payments quite yet. You'll need to complete our merchant processing application to be approved to take payments using Autobooks. Click here for step-by-step instructions.

Common questions about the Autobooks application review process

  1. Why do you need more information? Isn't Autobooks integrated with my bank?

    Although we gather a lot of information from your bank, we won't have access to any physical documents. To complete your application, we may still need a few additional items beyond what your bank provides. These could include tax statements, bank statements from other financial institutions, customer contracts, and documents to verify your address. We appreciate your understanding as we work together to ensure everything is in order!

    As a payment processor, Autobooks may ask for some details that your bank doesn’t require. For instance, we might need to know how much your business processes in payments each year or what your largest expected payment could be.

    Additionally, credit card issuers ask us to identify your business's industry classification and merchant category code to ensure everything is in line with regulations (a standard request in payment processing).

  2. I don't have everything you've requested. What can I do?

    We understand that you may not have all the information we've requested. Please let us know what specific documents or details you’re missing, and we’ll work with you to determine the best alternative. Contact Autobooks Support 816-617-3122 or submit a support ticket here.
  3. Why must I provide a physical address for my business when I use a P.O. Box?

    Regulations require payment processors to verify real physical addresses (not P.O. Boxes or virtual offices). That’s because companies like Autobooks need to prove that your business is real and operating in the United States.

    Credit card and bank transfer (ACH) industries are subject to many regulations and compliance requirements by the United States government, NACHA and major card brands (like Visa or MasterCard). You will need to provide a physical address for your business and your home for Autobooks to meet those compliance requirements and to verify the legitimacy of your business.
